ADAO – an acronym for Altruistic Democratic Autonomous Organization – seeks to harness the power of crypto-currency to build the world’s first democratically governed social and art endowment fund. The Bank’s name, as well as its currency (‘adacoins’), is a tribute to mathematician and poetry aficionado, Ada Lovelace. Acknowledged as the first computer programmer, Lovelace epitomises the seamless meeting of tech and art.

The identity for ADAO Bank too channels Lovelace’s inspirational work.

Ada’s profile, rendered in a pattern similar to the Jacquard loom associated with her first programme, forms the logo of the bank.
