Visual Architecture of Rating System
QS Quacquarelli Symonds is a leader in the global high-ed space. Students across the world refer to its reputed ‘QS World University Rankings.’ In 2018, QS entered the Indian higher education market through a partnership with the Era Foundation and launched ‘QS I-Gauge’ as a joint initiative.
‘QS I-Gauge’ recognises the need for different parameters of assessment for Indian colleges and universities. Its identity uses the metaphor of a compass, a tool for measurement and assessment. This creates a simple icon that stands out in the usually cluttered communication of colleges and universities.
This identity has also been extended into the visual architecture for the rating system.
Based on various parameters, QS I-Gauge awards universities and colleges an overall rating through the hierarchy of Platinum+, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
QS I-Gauge also awards individual ratings as a badge to higher education institutes based on 12 parameters (ranging from Teaching and Learning to Research and Innovation).
